Common questions

How does it work?

Point the camera at your drink and tap the round button, or choose a photo from your library. Pick a look, type where you are, add your own words if you like, switch on the price if you want it shown, then tap Share. Everything is drawn into the picture, so there is nothing to type afterwards.

The camera does not start

Allow camera access. On an iPhone, open Settings, then Wish You Were Beer, then turn Camera on. You can always choose a photo from your library instead.

What is the grid for?

The four dots are where the eye likes to land (the golden ratio). Put the glass on one of them and the picture usually feels balanced. Switch the grid off under Size and grid. It never appears in the finished picture.

The pub name is cut short

Long names shrink to fit. If they still do not fit, the pub name is shortened and your own words are kept. A shorter name always reads best.

Which size should I use?

Portrait is the default and suits a normal phone photo. Square and Story are under Size and grid. Story is tall and trims the sides of a photo to fit.

Can I add the Instagram location tag?

Not from this app: Instagram does not accept a location from another app. That is why the pub name and the time are drawn into the picture itself.

Where are my pictures kept?

Nowhere but where you send them. The app does not keep a library. Use Share, then Save Image, to keep one in Photos.

Does it need an account or the internet?

No. It has no accounts and works without a connection.
